The Designer

I have always been interested in old things  or dusty, old tat as some of my friends call it – and when it comes to clothes and accessories you could say I’m a bit of a hoarder. There is a special place in my heart for jewellery. Always having dreamt of seeing my name in lights, at the age of nineteen I packed my bags and headed down to the big smoke to study jewellery Design at Central Saint Martins.

Whilst I was at university I opened my first business, Dorris Doesselling vintage-inspired charm necklaces at Camden Lock Market. My hard work paid off and as the demand grew I moved into a little shop the summer before my final year. It was around about this time my love affair with mid-century design started and ‘Pip Jolley’ as a jewellery company officially launched. So far it has been stocked in Selfridges, displayed in the V&A and featured in Stylist magazine.
Since starting my business I have refined my love for vintage and found exactly what it is about design that I love, nothing gets me going like geometrical shapes. I am passionate about mixing vintage with current fashion trends to create a signature lookI believe it’s really important to approach life with your own aesthetic style and to create something new whilst always having fun. In both my work and my personal style I am always paying tribute to and embracing fashions of the past. It’s time to live life in technicolour and not take things so seriously.
